An incredibly easy to make ice cream that has a wonderful rich and spicy taste and texture. Try it topped with melted chocolate and roasted nuts.
Italian Fig and Chocolate Ice Cream
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4 People
Ingredients
3 rows of the 70% baking bar
9 oz soft-dried figs
Generous 3/4 cup milk, chilled
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup double cream, chilled
Method
Step 1
Break up the chocolate and place in the bowl of a food processor. Chop as finely as possible. Pour out into another bowl and set aside.
Step 2
Place the figs into the processor bowl and chop roughly.
Step 3
Add the milk and sugar to make a smooth purée.
Step 4
Whip the cream until soft peaks form, then fold in the chopped chocolate you set aside and the fig purée.
Step 5
Place the mixture into the ice cream machine, if you have one, and church until frozen. You can also freeze the mixture in a freezer-safe container until firm.
Step 6
Remove from freezer and enjoy! Best eaten within a few days.
