On the 29th June, 3 new Divine Chocolate bars are hitting the shelves in Co-op stores. Included in the tasty line-up is Divine’s best-selling Dark Raspberry bar, their milk Toffee & Sea Salt bar and their newly branded Gin and Tonic bar. These will be joining their existing impulse bar range which is already available to Co-op customers.
Fairtrade Divine Chocolate has a unique business model. Kuapa Kokoo is a farmer cooperative in Ghana who grow the quality cocoa that makes Divine Chocolate so delicious, and they also own stake in the company. This means the farmers receive a share of the profits they help to create, giving them more to invest in their families, farms and communities. This makes Divine a perfect fit for Co-op as both brands are owned by their members, meaning members get a chance to have a say in how they are run.
Jon Marlow, Divine’s Sales Director states “We’re delighted to be launching three of our best-selling, delicious chocolate bars with The Co-op. Our shared values make this the perfect fit. At Divine we’re passionate about bringing people great chocolate but we’re also passionate about supporting cocoa farmers and ensuring that every bar of chocolate that we sell makes a real difference to their lives.”
A spokesperson from Co-op states: “We are proud to have worked with Fairtrade pioneer Divine since 2000. As we enter our 20th year of partnership we are delighted to launch three new delicious Divine bars that change lives for Fairtrade producers and their communities.”
With a total commitment to Fairtrade, social enterprise and B Corp, Divine promises to continue to champion farmers and is committed to maintaining a sustainable & traceable supply chain driving positive change around the world.
